We came to the U.S. chasing big dreams and new beginnings. Chicago became our first home—beautiful, exciting, and honestly, freezing. Between work, homesickness, and learning to love the snow, what we missed most were the flavors that reminded us of who we are.
We searched everywhere for that true Filipino taste—lining up for hours when a known Filipino fast-food spot finally opened, visiting every local store, only to find sauces and pickled papaya that felt... off. Too sweet. Too preserved. Too far from home.
So, we made our own.
